Through recognising the chronic homelessness problem in Reading and wanting to support the local community, we approached the Salvation Army at Willow House Lifehouse to offer our help and services.

The space creates a safe and supportive environment where residents can feel respected and empowered. Housing over 40 people at any one time, the building is a much-needed respite providing food and accommodation to the homeless community in Reading.

Following an initial meeting with Saul Jalland, Service Manager at Willow House, it was decided to redecorate four corridors throughout the building.

The work helped to bring a lighter and more welcoming feel to Willow House, improving the general ambience and lifting the spirits of both residents and staff.

Saul Jalland, Service Manager at Willow House said:

“I received a visit from Steve Beck at Willow House; he wanted to find out how best A.C. Beck could help and support the work of the Salvation Army. He told me that he had a particular interest in providing some community support in the local homelessness sector and would like to help us with the much-needed redecorating of the corridors on the upper floors of Willow House. This work was carried out expertly by Oliver Beck who did a fantastic job and was exceptionally friendly and professional throughout.

I couldn’t be more grateful to Steve, Oliver and A.C. Beck for the fantastic job they’ve done for us and wouldn’t hesitate in recommending them.”
