Supporting the local community

Through recognising the chronic homelessness problem in Reading and wanting to support the local community, we approached the Salvation Army at Willow House Lifehouse to offer our help and services.

The space creates a safe and supportive environment where residents feel respected and empowered. Housing over 40 people at any one time, the building is a much-needed respite providing food and accommodation to the homeless community in Reading.

Following an initial meeting with Saul Jalland, Service Manager at Willow House, it was decided to redecorate four corridors throughout the building.

The work helped to bring a lighter and more welcoming feel to Willow House, improving the general ambience and lifting the spirits of both residents and staff.

Steve Beck visited us to see how A.C. Beck could support the work of The Salvation Army. He was interested in providing community support in the local homelessness sector and wanted to help us with the much-needed redecorating of the corridors on the upper floors of Willow House. This work was carried out expertly by Oliver Beck who did a fantastic job and was friendly and professional throughout. I couldn’t be more grateful to Steve, Oliver and A.C. Battersea Power Station,
London

A.C. Beck worked on Phase 3A, one of the phases on the Battersea re-development project. Completing the decorating to  both apartments and Hotel. The Apartment block known as O1 consisted of circa 250 1, 2, 3 & 4 bedroom  high end apartments and townhouses, corridors, staircases and gym space. The works involved painting ceilings, walls, woodwork and floors. The Hotel involved decorating and wallpapering circa 170 bedrooms, corridors, staircases & a vast amount of communal space including spa, restaurant, gym, treatment rooms and reception area.
