For AC Beck, sustainability is about protecting and improving the environment and society – for today and the future.

We take our responsibilities seriously. And we’re driving a number of initiatives to ensure that sustainability is at the heart of our business.

What we’re doing

AC Beck’s environmental policy is helping to shape our company processes – and reduce our carbon footprint. We’ve also introduced initiatives to improve employee welfare, including the Cycle to Work scheme. And we support local community projects by supplying labour and materials free of charge.

As a member of PLATO:Sustain we have the opportunity to find out how other companies are improving business sustainability. And out on site, AC Beck teams use products and technology designed to reduce a project’s carbon footprint.

• Bulk paint containers – Storing paint in 500 litre reusable containers cuts down on waste cans and deliveries.
• Envirowash – Efficient brush and roller cleaning technology keeps paint out of the water system.
• Eco friendly paints – We prefer to use paints that are less harmful to the enviroment, such as low VOC products. Dulux has also reduced the carbon footprint of its production process – and is developing products that extend the redecoration cycle.
• Can recycling – We send empty plastic and metal paint cans to a number of different recycling schemes.
• Paint solidifier – Another way to keep paint out of the water system, this product converts water-based paints into inert waste.
• Community repaint scheme – Instead of throwing away old paint, we give it to local schools, colleges and community projects.
