“It is with great delight that I am able to announce that we have now received the completion certificate for T5C from BAA, confirming that the project has completed as planned on 31st January 2011.
“This fantastic achievement is a direct result of the relentless effort each and every one of you have put into the project.
“T5C’s completion date of 31st January 2011 was agreed over 2½ years ago and has never changed. When you consider the challenges we have faced as a team; working airside in a live operational airport, over a thousand client changes, several changes in BAA’s project based team, facilitating access for key contractors Vanderlande, Bombardier, Retail and British Airways, two snowy winters and control post access issues, this is an exceptional achievement and one we should all be very proud of.
“In addition the project has achieved 1.4m man hours without a major accident and this month has achieved target zero (1 year without a major accident).
“I am hugely grateful for your support and am personally proud of what we have achieved together as a team. Thank you.”
