Redecoration of The Windsor Guildhall

ACBeck win prestigious new contract to redecorate The Guildhall in Windsor Town Centre. Particular care must be taken with thisGrade 1 Listed Building and pedestrian disruption must be kept to a minimum which is paramount in the organisation of this project.

On 9 April 2005, Windsor Guildhall was thrust into the view of the world’s media as it was the location of the marriage of Charles, Prince of Wales and Camilla Parker Bowles, being the nearest place to the castle that is licensed to hold weddings. On 21 December 2005, it also hosted one of the first same sex civil partnership ceremonies to be held in England, that of Sir Elton John and David Furnish.

A C Beck creates Help In The Community Initiative

As part of A C Becks Sustainability drive, we have set up a help in the community initiative. This initiative is designed to do exactly what it states and to put something back into the local community. Many projects have been undertaken over the last 2 years and we have showcased two here, All Souls Primary School and No5 Young Peoples Counselling, or click on ‘Community Projects’ on the right to view.

All Souls Primary School, Fitzrovia, London

A C Beck are currently undertaking a major decoration project for main contractors, Sir Robert Mcalpine at Fitzroy Place, Mortimer Street, London. Our Contracts Manager, Mark Hill said ‘We were approached by the main contractors regarding carrying out voluntary work in the adjacent All Souls Primary School’

Our Foreman, Steve Payne met with the Headmistress, Alix Ascough together with representative from Mcalpines and agreed to redecorate the main staircase to the school as part of our help in the community initiative.

The project took three of A C Becks decorators a week to complete using Dulux Acrylic Eggshell to ceiling and walls and traditional Undercoat and Gloss system to woodworks

Testimonial:

“All Souls Primary School would like to thank Steve and all at AC Beck for painting the school’s stairwells, making the school brighter and creating a better backdrop for the children’s art work.” Alix Ascough, Head Teacher.

No5 Young Peoples Counselling, Reading

No5 offers free and confidential counselling to young people aged between 10 and 25.

Alyson Brickley, Operations Manager at No5 met A C Becks Contracts Manager, Mark Hill through a mutual friend. Alyson had heard of AC Becks help in the community initiative and agreed with Mark to strip and refurbish their existing Kitchen.

The work was carried out by Mark and A C Becks Carpenter, Stewart Richards, over a week long period through August 2014.

Testimonial:

‘Just wanted to say a massive thank you for all your support with our kitchen refurbishment. The team who came to complete the work were really fabulous. They could not have been more helpful and fun. They worked incredibly hard to get everything done in time for us to open again after the Bank Holiday. They really did go over and above what we could have expected.

All our counsellors have said how great the kitchen now looks. It has opened up the space and made it so much more welcoming. We are all so pleased.

I want to thank you too for your generosity in paying for your guys to do the work for us and some of the materials. It means a great deal to us as we can now move on to improving our Waiting Room, rather than waiting to fundraise the money to do it. This will make such a difference to the young people who use our service. They have given us specific feedback on improving this area and you have made that possible’

Alyson Brickley, Operations Manager.

Thank You

“Thank you so much for the opportunity to work with you I loved it.

I really enjoyed the experience with A.C.Beck and working with Nathan. He taught me some important things about the work and explained it very well to me.

I really want to thank you and especially Nathan for the opportunity to work with A.C.Beck. Nathan was very friendly, helpful and obviously experienced in the type of work you do. He has inspired me to look closely at this area of work.”
